My introduction to Regalien began with a gift from my husband after his trip to Istanbul. What started as a thoughtful gesture quickly became a passionate journey. That gift opened the door to a perfume house unlike any I had experienced, rooted in heritage, elevated by craft, and undeniably modern in spirit.
Regalien is composed of four main collections: The Exclusive Collection, The Heritage Collection, The Lucky Collection, and the Ottoman Bath Rituals Collection. Each collection represents a distinct facet of Turkish elegance and storytelling through scent.

The Discovery Set includes the entire range (22 bottles), offering a remarkable opportunity to explore every creation in the house. While our previous article introduced the brand’s origins and highlighted a few standout creations, this time the spotlight is on The Exclusive Collection. These extrait de parfum compositions are crafted at the highest concentration and priced at €230 (approximately $250 USD). The bottles themselves are elegant, weighty, and come topped with magnetic caps, an unmistakable sign of quality and attention to detail.
Regalien doesn’t just bottle scent, it bottles emotion, memory, and legacy. The Exclusive Collection feels like stepping into a world where Eastern elegance meets Western precision, where each bottle wears an invisible crown. This isn’t just luxury, it’s a lineage. As co-founder, Varol Besen explains, “Our fragrances are not just about smelling good; they are about evoking memories, feelings, and personal experiences.”
As someone who has explored countless niche perfumes, Regalien immediately stood out to me. I fell in love with this house. The longevity is phenomenal, the projection bold without being abrasive, and the compositions are intricate yet emotionally resonant. These are high-quality perfumes made in Istanbul, Türkiye, paying homage to the country’s rich olfactory heritage.
“Regalien began as a passion project… to ensure we stayed true to our vision,” said Bilen Besen. That dedication shows in every spritz.
Ceremony

- Category: Oriental, Floral, Fruity
- Notes: Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Plum; Gardenia, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang; Amber, Musk, Coconut, Patchouli
- Impression: Ceremony is the olfactory version of a grand entrance. It wears like a luxurious silk robe brushed by morning light, radiant, floral, slightly tropical, and reverent. This is the brand’s heart and soul, lush, composed, timeless. “Ceremony is a fragrance that not only tells a story but also creates a lasting impression,” said Bilen Besen.
Ceremony Flu

- Category: Powdery, Fresh, Floral
- Notes: Pink Pepper, Ambrette, Bergamot; Iris, Linden Blossom, Teakwood; Musk, Amber, Vetiver
- Impression: This is Ceremony’s more introspective sibling. Powdery and serene, it has the clean strength of pressed linen and fresh air. A scent of grace in stillness. Elegant, but never aloof. Varol Besen captures it well, “Ceremony Flu evokes the peace and purity within strength.”
Ceremony Bold

- Category: Oriental, Floral, Woody
- Notes: Orange Blossom, Tagette, Mandarin; Tuberose, Jasmine, Rose; Oakmoss, Patchouli, Labdanum
- Impression: If Ceremony is a ritual, Bold is the declaration. Opulent florals meet mossy woods in a commanding composition that leaves a mark. Unforgettable and confident without being overbearing.
Hazz

- Category: Sweet, Fruity, Gourmand
- Notes: Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit; Mimosa, Tonka Bean, Licorice; Caramel, Praline, Vanilla, Sandalwood
- Impression: Hazz is the sugar rush of joy. Creamy citrus morphs into a dessert-like heart full of warmth and romance. Think lemon cheesecake in a high-end boutique. Varol and Bilen list Hazz among their personal favorites, calling it a fragrance that “embodies timeless elegance.”
Antidote

- Category: Sweet, Spicy, Smoky
- Notes: Geranium, Coconut, Red Rose; Jasmine, Mimosa, Honey; Tobacco Leaf, Vanilla, Amber, Patchouli
- Impression: A poetic rebel. Antidote is sweet and dark, like honey dripping on smoldering tobacco. It tells a story of passion and shadow. Addictive, emotional, and mysterious. “Antidote creates a provocative dilemma of emotions,” the brand notes.
Marrakesh

- Category: Spicy, Oriental, Woody
- Notes: Petitgrain, Lemon, Coriander; Lavender, Jasmine, Cumin; Amber, Patchouli, Incense
- Impression: Marrakesh is a sensory mirage. Citrus and spice at the top, floral smoke in the middle, and rich amber warmth beneath. It feels like an echo from an ancient market at dusk. A dream in scent form.
Kashmeran

- Category: Oriental, Floral, Woody
- Notes: Red Berries, Raspberry; Rose, Violet, Iris; Benzoin, Patchouli, Oud, Cotton Candy, Amber
- Impression: Silk in scent form. Delicate and layered, Kashmeran is a rosy, creamy whisper with a sophisticated trail. Oud is used like a brushstroke, never dominating. It glides like fine cashmere.
Mystic

- Category: Woody, Aromatic, Oriental
- Notes: Sage, Bergamot, Cedar Leaf; Lavender, Rosemary; Sandalwood, Tonka, Amber, Vanilla, Oud
- Impression: A modern-day alchemist’s brew. Mystic balances freshness and depth beautifully. You get clarity and seduction in equal parts. It’s thoughtful and magnetic. As the brand puts it, “It opens with a striking yet elegant presence that captivates you at first touch.”
Vanity Oud

- Category: Fruity, Floral, Oriental
- Notes: Lychee, Plum, Raspberry; Jasmine, Orchid, Lotus; Oud, Ambergris, Cedarwood, Vanilla
- Impression: Layers of surprise. Sweet fruits, dreamy florals, and resinous oud all coexist in elegant chaos. A shapeshifter fragrance. Feminine yet untamed. It tells a different story with every hour.
Musk Barrel

- Category: Spicy, Woody, Amber
- Notes: Cumin, Saffron, Black Pepper; Jasmine, Honeysuckle; Patchouli, Amber, Cedar, Sandalwood
- Impression: This one hits deep. Warm spice and musky woods create a smoldering allure. Imagine old books, spice markets, and expensive whiskey in one breath. Earthy, confident, and grounded.
Regularly Irregular

- Category: Fruity, Spicy, Woody
- Notes: Pineapple, Apple, Raspberry; Sichuan Pepper, Rose, Birch; Oakmoss, Patchouli, Amber, White Musk
- Impression: Pure energy in a bottle. A juicy, fizzy, almost chaotic scent that somehow pulls itself together. Think streetwear meets baroque. Wild, but calculated. A beautiful contradiction, much like life.
Regalien is not a vertically integrated house, but what sets them apart is their transparency. They are deeply committed to using Turkish partners in both sourcing and manufacturing, maintaining a close connection to their origins while working with excellence at every stage. I currently own three of these masterpieces in my personal collection, and if it were possible, I would acquire every single one of them. Regalien speaks to my senses and soul with such elegance and expressive power that each scent feels like it was made to be worn with reverence.
This is just the beginning. In the next installment, I’ll dive into the rest of the Regalien Exclusive Collection, the more niche, abstract creations like Şah, Hatır, Meftun, Turkuaz, and Diamond of Velvet. Expect nods to Ottoman bath rituals, cultural memory, and heritage reimagined through scent.
Have you tried any of the Regalien perfumes? What are your favorites?
