For over 15 years, I had the honor of serving as the publisher of Posh Seven Magazine, where I immersed myself in the world of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Growing up in Los Angeles during the 80s, I was surrounded by vibrant cultural influences and fashion trends that shaped my sense of style. This era, with its dynamic energy and eclectic aesthetics, left an indelible mark on me, blending with my Turkish heritage to create a unique perspective on beauty and elegance. My upbringing instilled in me an appreciation for both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary trends, which now inform my approach to curating classic fashion and fragrance.
In addition to my early experiences, my husband’s career took him around the world, which provided my family and me with the incredible opportunity to travel internationally. These journeys exposed us to diverse cultures and broadened my understanding of global fashion and fragrance trends. Each destination offered new insights and inspirations, enriching my approach to style and deepening my appreciation for the art of fragrance.
Turning 52: Embracing Elegance Over Anti-Aging
Recently, I celebrated turning 52, a milestone that sparked a profound reflection on the prevailing anti-aging rhetoric that saturates online spaces and social media. The constant emphasis on fighting age rather than embracing it felt discordant with my values and the essence of what true elegance represents. I’ve always believed that beauty is not about erasing the past but celebrating the present and the wisdom that comes with it.
This realization was a pivotal moment. I decided to channel my passion for fashion and fragrance into creating a platform that offers women an alternative narrative.
