Libre Santal Couture is not a bad perfume. It is simply a less interesting Libre.
The familiar lavender and orange blossom are still there, but the sandalwood seems to soften the composition rather than deepen it. Libre’s signature is present, only quieter, smoother and strangely restrained.

That is the problem for me. Libre works because it has confidence. Santal Couture feels like someone has asked it to lower its voice.
It is elegant and very wearable, and I can imagine people who find the original Libre too assertive preferring this version. But after Vanille Couture, which gave the DNA a genuinely new character, Santal Couture feels cautious.
Pleasant, polished, but not especially memorable.
